Technical Excellence in N80Q (Quenched & Tempered) Grade
The South Korean market is renowned for its stringent quality requirements. Unlike standard N80-1 casing, the N80Q grade mandates a strict Quench and Temper (Q&T) heat treatment process to ensure superior mechanical integrity.
During the workshop tour, our technical team presented the heat treatment logs, demonstrating a controlled heating temperature of 880°C for quenching followed by precise tempering at 620°C. This specific thermal cycle ensures the fine-grained martensitic structure required for high-stress environments.
Data-Driven Quality Control (QC)
The delegation spent a full day in our testing center, reviewing the following live data for the current batch (Size: 9-5/8", 40.00 lb/ft, BTC connection):
Mechanical Properties:
Yield Strength: Recorded at 585-610 MPa (Well within the API 5CT range of 552-758 MPa).
Tensile Strength: Reached 720-750 MPa (Exceeding the minimum requirement of 689 MPa).
Hardness Testing: Results maintained a consistent 20-22 HRC, ensuring uniformity across the entire pipe body.
Hydrostatic Testing:
Each joint was subjected to a hydrostatic pressure of 47.6 MPa (6,900 psi) held for 10 seconds with zero pressure drop, verified by digital chart recorders.
Dimensional Precision:
The Korean engineers utilized high-precision micrometers to verify wall thickness, confirming a variance within +1.5% / -0%, significantly tighter than the standard API tolerance.

The lead procurement manager from Seoul remarked, "The consistency of the mechanical data we saw today, particularly the impact toughness values at 0°C, gives us full confidence in deploying these pipes in offshore conditions.
