Korean Client Visits GNEE to Purchase A106 GR.B Welded Pipe

May 29, 2026

GNEE Group recently hosted a strategic procurement delegation from a leading South Korean industrial engineering firm. The visit focused on the final inspection and technical audit of ASTM A106 Grade B (Performance Equivalent) Welded Pipes intended for high-temperature fluid transmission projects.

Direct Factory Inspection: Testing & Precision

The Korean delegation conducted a deep-dive inspection of GNEE’s manufacturing facility, focusing on our ERW (Electric Resistance Welding) and LSAW (Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welding) production lines.

The visit centered on the Quality Control (QC) Lab, where the client observed the following live tests:

  • Hydrostatic Testing: Every pipe was tested at pressures up to 2,500 PSI (depending on wall thickness) to ensure zero leakage.

  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT): 100% automated UT inspection of the longitudinal weld seam to detect any internal flaws or porosity.

  • X-Ray Inspection: Detailed radiographic testing of weld joints to verify full penetration and integrity.

  • Chemical Analysis: On-site spectrometer test confirming the carbon equivalent (CE) levels.

Product Data: A106 Gr.B Welded Pipe Specifications

During the technical review, the GNEE team presented the specific data sheets for the batch:

  • Chemical Composition: Carbon (C) ≤ 0.30%, Manganese (Mn) 0.29%–1.06%, Phosphorus (P) ≤ 0.035%, Sulfur (S) ≤ 0.035%.

  • Mechanical Properties:

    • Yield Strength: ≥ 240 MPa (35,000 psi).

    • Tensile Strength: ≥ 415 MPa (60,000 psi).

  • Dimensional Accuracy: Outer Diameter (OD) tolerance within ±1% and Wall Thickness (WT) tolerance of +12.5% / -12.5% per ASTM standards.

Why Korean Clients Choose GNEE

The delegation expressed high satisfaction with GNEE's Finished Product Warehouse, which currently holds a standing stock of over 20,000 tons of carbon steel pipes.

Key feedback from the Korean client: "GNEE’s ability to provide Mill Test Certificates (MTC) conforming to EN 10204 3.1 and their transparency in showing the weld-seam heat treatment (Normalizing) process were the deciding factors for our long-term partnership."

Strengthening East Asian Supply Chains

This visit reinforces GNEE’s position as a premier steel exporter to the South Korean market, bridging the gap between high-volume production and precision engineering requirements.
